Administrative Board Report
By: Bob Glover, Moderator
Much of the April 7 Administrative Board meeting dealt with progress on the renovation of the sanctuary building. The members of the board toured the building before the meeting to observe the status of the work and begin to think about what we need to do in planning, preparation and getting ready for the actual move into the building.
The good news is we have reason to hope the construction phase will be completed earlier than expected. The board authorized a task force to begin the transition process. The first step will be a workday for cleaning out the basement in preparation for the work to be done there on Saturday, April 26, from 9 to noon. Members of the transition team will be making announcements and contacting people for further steps. Note: this is not the group that will be planning for the rededication and celebration event that will take place after our moving Sunday. That group will be appointed later.
There are many exciting tasks ahead and opportunities for everyone. No one need wait to be contacted. If you want to serve on one of the planning teams or have a particular phase you would like to participate in (e.g., shelving books in the library) contact Don Call, chair of the transition team, or Bob Glover, moderator.
Income for February was down slightly from budget, but combined with lower than budget expenditures and a higher than budget income in January, we were in a good financial position at the end of February. March data was not available due to the church server being down.
The next meeting of the board will be June 2 at 7:00 p.m. in the Quilters’ Room. Meetings are open to the congregation and all are welcome to attend. The board also welcomes your input at any time.
